Our journey to China is almost upon us. We began our paper chase in ernest in January 2005. By the end of August we had everything ready to go, in triplicate. The CCAA (China Center for Adoption Affairs) logged our dossier in (LID) on September 12, 2005.
We had hoped for a 'short' 8-9 month wait - or a 'paper pregnancy' - but not so! Instead our gestation period is closer to a blue whale!
At last our turn is around the corner and we expect to get the 'call' at the end of this month or early January.
We've saved our money, decorated the baby's room and tried to finish all those home improvement projects that never seem to get completed in our 12+ years of marriage. Now panic is beginning to sink in. Our on-line buddies are asking the 'good' questions: What kind of nipples and how many bottles to take? How to get a care package to the the Aunties at the orphanage and where is the Wal Mart in each province?
